Sisters Red - Jackson Pearce

Synopsis: Scarlett March lives to hunt the Fenris-the werewolves that took her eye when she was defending her sister Rosie from a brutal attack. Armed with a razor-sharp hatchet and blood-red cloak, Scarlett is an expert at luring and slaying the wolves. She’s determined to protect other young girls from a grisly death, and her raging heart will not rest until every single wolf is dead.

Rosie March once felt her bond with her sister was unbreakable. Owing Scarlett her life, Rosie hunts ferociously alongside her. But even as more girls’ bodies pile up in the city and the Fenris seem to be gaining power, Rosie dreams of a life beyond the wolves. She finds herself drawn to Silas, a young woodsman who is deadly with an ax and Scarlett’s only friend-but does loving him mean betraying her sister and all that they’ve worked for?

Review: I absolutely adored this read. It was such a page turner. If you know nothing about this book, it is stripped down to it’s VERY basics based on the story tale Little Red Riding Hood. And really, that’s where the similarities end. It is a thrilling read, and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Jackson Pearce, you sure know how to write a book! The story was addictive and the characters were so lovable. I LOVED the characters.

You have Scarlett, one half of the March sisters. She is focused and determined. She lives to hunt. She is oblivious to anything that is not related to hunting. She seeks vengeance for her grandmother and for almost losing her life as a young girl to a wolf (Or a Fenris as we come to know them), where she lost her eye and became scarred for life. She is overprotective of younger sister Rosie.

Then Rosie, the younger March sister. She’s not sure if she wants to hunt, but she feels as though she owes it to Scarlett to hunt since Scarlett saved her life when she was younger. She is sweet, and has a point to prove. She wants to be brave like Scarlett and prove she can hunt solo. But she is also a dreamer and a romantic at heart and wants more.

Silas. Oh Silas. I fell in love with him myself! He has always been around the March girls and has grown up with them. He is loyal, strong, protective, affectionate.. everything we want in our leading male character right? Hunting isn’t his entire life, but he does this for Scarlett and Rosie.

I am really not going to go too much into the story line, because I know for me, books are so much more enjoyable when you have no idea what is going to happen. And there’s little I can say without giving it away.

But you really need to read this book. That is what I will say. :)
