I think the Harry Potter movie adaptations were done really well… undeniably the best book to movie version of any I’ve seen before!
I KNOW The Hunger Games is going to be amazing, I am highly anticipating this release.
In my experience more often than not though, books to movies usually fail. Some of the ones I really didn’t like though:
My Sisters Keeper (Book by Jodi Picoult)
Flowers In The Attic (Book by V.C Andrews)
The Lovely Bones (Book by Alice Sebold)
Twilight movies (Books by Stephenie Meyer)
IT (Book by Stephen King)

I’ve already bought and recommended The Hunger Games to MANY of my “non-YA” friends, who have loved it - I am known as a Hunger Games pusher at work. lol But people are loving it!
I would recommend Shatter Me by Tehereh Mafi, Divergent by Veronica Roth, both Anna & The French Kiss and Lola & The Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins since they were my fave reads of 2011.
Don’t get me started on ‘My Sister’s Keeper’. There’s adapting a book for film and then there’s completely changing the ending!
I loved the Harry Potter film adaptations. They were quite good, in my humble opinion. And I’m just as excited for The Hunger Games!
I said Hunger Games too!!! And I loved Stephanie Perkins’ books
Great answer!!!
