Synopsis: Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan’s life. Review: This story is about a girl named Hadley, who through a series of events ends up being late for her flight to England, and along the way meets a boy named Oliver. This is the story of their chance meeting over 24 hours and their relationship.

It’s such a cute read!! I think going into this book initially I was fearful of the whole instalove situation popping up, as this book is set over a 24 hour period. And I hate instalove (Just add water). But readers - I assure you it’s really not like that. It’s written in a really adorable way, and whilst I would say that the story line was predictable, I enjoyed it emensely.

One thing I didn’t initially like at the beginning of the book was that there was no protagonist. It was written in a third person style, which I didn’t really love - I really like a book written in 1st person with a main protagonist. It generally feels more personal. However 4 chapters in, and I didn’t even notice it anymore, and in actual fact I really got into the story from this point on also.

Hadley was really cute. She is a typical teenager, but she’s dealing with a lot of anger towards both of her parents who have been divorced, and her dad is remarrying (the reason she’s going to London). She was absolutely dreading the flight but her chance meeting with Oliver seems to make everything a little bit better.

And Oliver sounds hot. Any time there’s a boy with an English accent in books I seem to instinctly gravitate towards them! haha

Whilst the story takes place on a flight, it turns out to be only a minor part of the story itself. They go their seperate ways after the flight, and the rest of the story focuses mostly on Hadley’s fathers wedding and how she is coping with all of the mixed emotions she is feeling.

Overall, it was a quick enjoyable read. It breaks up a lot of the heavier YA reads currently out at the moment.
