Monday Mailbox #3

Good afternoon!! Welcome to Monday Mailbox #3, where I can share the books I bought and received in the previous week! This week is pretty epic cause I have spent the last 3 weeks in the USA. I didn’t buy MANY books there (they weigh too much!) but whilst I was gone I received some books from publishers, and as it’s my birthday on Wednesday I got some early presents also!

Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week and explore great book blogs. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

Mailbox Monday is originally hosted by Marcia from A girl and her books and The Printed Page. In the summer of 2010 Marcia decided she needed a change in hosting and didn’t want to rely on one blogger alone to do it because its a lot of work so she decided to put Mailbox Monday on tour and so far with great success it has made monthly stops at more then a dozen blogs and this year is booked until the end. The host for June is Marie from Burton Book Review. Be sure to check her out!

The Masque of the Red Death, Storm and Will Greyson, Will Greyson have featured in previous Mailbox’s (I bought e-book versions previously), and so I won’t be re-featuring them. But I bought Masque of the Red Death and Will Greyson, Will Greyson from Barnes & Noble in NY!

Partials - Dan Wells

Thank you so much Harper Collins for this finished copy! It was nice to return from overseas with some packages on my doorstep! This is a book I’ve been looking forward to reading for a while! The fact that it’s set in Long Island New York means I am going to read this even sooner since I’ve just returned from NY and am obsessed with all things NY related right now. haha Looks great - review to come soon!

The Friendship Matchmaker Goes Undercover- Randa Abdel-Fattah

I hadn’t heard of this book prior to Scholastic Australia sending me a copy (thank you very much Scholastic!). But it looks like a really cute read, and quite a quick read too.. I think this is a sequel to The Friendship Matchmaker, which I haven’t read, but to be honest it doesn’t look as though you would need to read the first one to understand this! Review to come soon!!

Fated - Alyson Noel

Thank you Pan Macmillan Australia for a finished copy of Fated!! I will have a copy of this to give away to one of my fellow Australian readers shortly as I’ve got two copies of this at the moment!! I am very much looking forward to reading this book, it’s the first in the Soul Seekers series and I’ve heard some really good things about it! Definitely will be adding a review of this book shortly!

City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments Book 5) - Cassandra Clare

Eeeee!!! I love this series. I have some SERIOUS catching up to do as I am only up to book 3!!! But maybe now with this release it might be the kick in the butt I needed to get reading on the other books in this series! One thing is for sure, and that is, they look amazing on my bookshelf!

The Glimpse - Claire Merle

This looks like a really good dystopian novel!!

In a near future, society is segregated according to whether people are genetically disposed to mental illness. 17-year-old Ana has been living the privileged life of a Pure due to an error in her DNA test. When the authorities find out, she faces banishment from her safe Community, a fate only thwarted by the fact that she has already been promised to Pure-boy Jasper Taurell.

Withering Tights - Louise Rennison

Picked this one up for $5 today! Bargain!

From Goodreads: Hilarious new series from Queen of Teen – laugh your tights off at the (VERY) amateur dramatic antics of Talullah and her bonkers mates. Boys, snogging and bad acting guaranteed!

This one isn’t a new release, it came out last July, but it looks like a fun read - something to break up the serious books!

Withering Tights - Louise Rennison

Also got this one for a bargain $5 today! This is a series I have been eyeing off for a while now, but I always get confused as to what book is first in the series. Anyways, I found it!

From Goodreads: In the zombie-infested, post-apocalyptic America where Benny Imura lives, every teenager must find a job by the time they turn fifteen or get their rations cut in half. Benny doesn’t want to apprentice as a zombie hunter with his boring older brother Tom, but he has no choice. He expects a tedious job whacking zoms for cash—but what he gets is a vocation that will teach him what it means to be human.

Fifty Shades Of Grey - E.L James

My best friend bought me this SERIES, Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. DEFINITELY not a YA series!!! Lots and lots of hype about this series right now, and I’ve half finished the first book and can understand the hype. It’s very raunchy, and I wouldn’t recommend this series to those easily offended! That being said, if you’re open minded and not offended by sex, you’ll love this series! Not particularly well written but very indulgent.

So that is all from me this week, what did you receive this week? Let me know - leave your links in the comments section below!
