Monday Mailbox #18

Good evening readers! Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week and explore great book blogs. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

Mailbox Monday is originally hosted by Marcia from A girl and her books and The Printed Page.

The Evolution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #2) - Michelle Hodkin

OMG one of my most anticipated 2012 reads is here finally!! I’ve been looking forward to reading this. I read the first book in one sitting at a cafe (I was there for a while that day! lol) and loved it. So I’ve been dying to see what happens in the sequel! Hoping I might be able to get to this sooner rather than later, but judging from my TBR pile it won’t be soon enough unfortunately! *sobs*

Beta (Annex #1) - Rachel Cohn

OH this looks pretty cool! It appears to be a dystopian/sci-fi style book. I’ve read some reviews that have actually given this book really bad ratings based on some of the mature themes in the book, such as rape. At that same token others have raved about how brilliant the story is, so I think either way theres some hype about this and I want to be able to read the book for myself and make up my own mind rather than just listen to the opinion of others.

The Blessed (The Blessed #1) - Tonya Hurley

How creepy is this cover? Her eyes? Woaaaaah. This is about three girls who become entangled with an enigmatic boy—a boy who believes he is a saint. What if martyrs and saints lived among us? And what if you were told you were one of them?
Again, this one has really received mixed reviews, but like I’ve said before - I like to be able to form my own opinion! Fingers crossed it’s a good one!

Destroy Me (Shatter Me #1.5) - Tahereh Mafi

Another one of my most anticipated reads of 2012!! Absolutely adored Shatter Me, and even though Destroy Me is a pretty small read (a novella) at 111 pages, I feel like it’s enough to get me by until Unravel Me comes out.

Set after Shatter Me and before its forthcoming sequel, Unravel Me, Destroy Me is a novella told from the perspective of Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.

The Iron Legends (The Iron Fey #1.5, #3.5 & #4.5) - Julie Kagawa

Oh I needed this so much! I haven’t read any of these bridging novellas dispite reading all of the Iron Fey books (1 through 5), so I am thinking I might get through this pretty quickly to help answer some of the questions I have outstanding. All the “what happened too” style questions! I’ve heard these are pretty good, so I am hoping to read this sooner rather than later!

Such Wicked Intent (Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein #2) - Kenneth Oppel

Looking forward to this! I just finished the first book in this series, This Dark Endeavor (review coming shortly), and I quite liked it. I am really wanting to know what happens between Victor and Elizabeth (if anything). Whilst I rated the first book 3/5 stars, I am still really wanting to see this series through!

So that is all from me this week, what did you receive this week? Let me know - leave your links in the comments section below!
