Book Tag: Get To Know Me

I’ve been tagged by the fabulous Kelly at Diva Booknerd to tell you twenty things about myself from the questions below. Not that I keep anything a secret, but I am also not all that exciting, but here goes…

How tall are you?

I’m short. I am 5’4 from memory. But probably just.

Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?

A hidden talent? Ummmm, not that I can think of. I guess it is hiding from me.

What’s your biggest blog related pet peeve?

Spoilers. I hate reading a review with spoilers. From a bloggers point of view, my pet peeve is that I don’t have enough time to comment on all the blogs that I stalk.

What’s your biggest non blog related pet peeve?

Being woken up early. I do not like mornings.

What’s your favourite song?

I don’t have one. I love lots of different types of music, but I couldn’t pick a favourite.

What’s your favourite Etsy shop that isn’t yours?

I don’t really shop on Etsy, but I do love Midnight Hour. To be upfront, this is a friend of mine, but I love her steampunk jewellery (as well as her styles)

What’s your favourite way to spend your free time when you’re alone?

Reading, listening to music, spending time with friends, travelling, watching movies - or a combination of any of these :)

What’s your favourite junk food?

Chocolate. For sure! For fast-food type thing, I can never go past any form of hot chips.

Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?

Sadly I don’t. But one day, I will get a Siberian Husky!

What are your number one favourite nonfiction and fiction books?

The Art of Graeme Base is really the only non-fiction book I like. As far as fiction goes, it is Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but you all know that :)

What’s your favourite beauty product?

What is a beauty product? I don’t understand the question. I am a not a girly-girl, and rarely wear makeup or anything like that. But if I had to pick a makeup product, I would have to say eyeliner. If it was any other product, I would either say body-butter or vanilla perfume.

When were you last embarrassed? What happened?

Ummm, after I met Laini Taylor. At the time I wasn’t, but afterwards I thought that I probably sounded like an idiot, and that is embarassing (but I knew it would happen).

If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Tough call - coke or coffee. I couldn’t live without either.

What’s your favourite movie?

Another tough one, I love so many that I don’t think I could pick a favourite. But it would probably come down to either The Crow or The Green Mile.

What were you in high school: Prom queen, nerd, cheerleader, jock, valedictorian, band geek, loner, artist?

I can’t really answer this as it is aimed at Americans - and even by American standards, I was none of the above. I was somewhere in the middle of everything. Maybe leaning a little more towards the “rebellious” side.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Prague. Without a second thought. My second choice would probably be The Cook Islands.

PC or Mac?

PC. Unless you are talking tablets, and then I am Apple all the way.

Last romantic gesture from a boyfriend?

It isn’t about romantic gestures for me, it’s about the everyday gestures - making me smile or laugh, being sweet with a comment, cooking dinner. I like the little things.

Favourite celebrity?

I can’t say I have a favourite - I admire different ones for different reasons. Sometimes it is because they are fine humans to look at, for general humanity, or for their talent.

What blogger do you secretly want to be best friends with?

See, here is another one I can’t answer. But very early in my blogging career, it would have been Asti from A Bookish Heart (she is now over at Oh, the Books!). I found her so unique, talented, original, honest and quirky - all the traits that I admire. But I have been fortunate enough to actually become friends with this lovely amazing person since I started blogging :)

Now I am tagging:

Pavan from Keep It Fictional

Jaz from Fiction in Fiction in Fiction

Laura from Laura Plus Books

Leila from Leila Reads

Crystal from Crystal in Bookland

See, I told you I wasn’t exciting! And if you actually got through all the questions and answers - thank you.

What do you think?

  • Thanks for the tag! It’s always nice to get to know the person behind the owl :-)

  • Thanks for sharing a bit more about yourself Kristy. I hate spoilers in reviews too, especially if they don’t warn you it’s a spoiler. I am not a morning person either. My husband really wants a Siberian husky. And who doesn’t love hot chips? So delicious.

No problem Rochelle - like I said, I’m not very exciting, but I am always happy to share :)
(I hope your husband gets his husky at some point - and I want pics if he does!)
