And today, since today is my birthday, I am giving myself a present and I am combining all of these loves :)

Normally we pick one type of “inspired by fiction” for each post, but today I am doing them all!

Cakes Inspired By Fiction #6 - Divergent Series by Veronica Roth

Kristy and I love the Divergent series by Veronica Roth! Cake is such a big part of Dauntless culture too if you Google Dauntless Cake, there’s recipes to even make your own! So it’s only fitting that we had a post for cakes inspired by the Divergent Series also!

Cakes Inspired By Fiction #5 - The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare

Rune cakes gallore this week since we’ve chosen The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I actually thought I would have found heaps more cakes since this has such a massive fandom, but then again, I guess not everyone shows their passion with cakes (although that should be a law that you have to…. mmmm cake). So below is some of the best cakes I found online to represent The Mortal Instruments series! Enjoy!

Cakes Inspired By Fiction #4 - The Fault In Our Stars - John Green

We picked an awesome one today - The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. And what makes this even more epic, is that only in the last day it’s been announced that TFIOS will be released in cinemas on June 6th 2014 (aka Mel’s 30th birthday - woo!!!!). Kristy and I are SUPER pumped about this release (I may even post our SMS conversation about it later if Kristy says it’s cool! haha) and so this week, it’s all about TFIOS cake!

Cakes Inspired By Fiction #3 - Alice In Wonderland

Om nom nom, we’re back with more cake! No surprise that one of my favourites is Alice in Wonderland. I absolutely love the imagination and originality in this book, and I grew up with the Disney animated movie also. It’s a fun theme, and has definitely been celebrated many times over in cake form. Here’s some of the ones that I’ve found on the internet this week to share with you. Seems a shame to have to cut into any of these at all really! Enjoy!

Cakes Inspired By Fiction #2 - The Hunger Games

Sorry (not sorry) if our cake feature made you hungry last week - it certainly had both Kristy and I craving cake!! haha Kristy went hunting for some cake inspiration this week, and sent me through the most epic Hunger Game cakes ever! There’s actually so many of them that there’ll be a second post filled with even more Hunger Games cakes! Thanks so much Kristy! The irony is not lost on me… cake and The Hunger Games. lol Almost a shame to have to cut these cakes to eat them!

Cakes Inspired By Fiction #1 - Harry Potter

OMG what?! Where did the tattoos go? Don’t worry, they’ll be back - I was googling and got side tracked by yummy cakes (so typical of me….) and then I found a whole bunch of awesome Harry Potter cakes and I needed to share them with you!! This might be a feature we interchange every now and then with the tattoos and even nail art (from way back in the day), just to change things up every now and then. I won’t be held responsible for any cake cravings you might have after viewing the noms below! :P
