August in Review
Evening! August has come and is almost behind us. Kristy and I have had a super productive and busy month in August - both with Book Nerd Reviews as well as offline. I just found out this week that the promotion I applied for is happening, and so I’ll be very shortly starting a new role at work which is both extremely exciting to be doing something new, but also a little nerve wracking!
In case you missed it, here is our August recap.

We discussed
Kristy and I had some great discussions in August with our Feral Friday posts:
We discussed love triangles & teams on August 23rd
We discussed loaning books on August 16th
And we discussed book covers changing mid series on August 9th
Posts we really enjoyed from our blogging friends
There were some really great posts and discussions online this month. Here’s just some of what we enjoyed in August:
- Asti from A Bookish Heart wrote a fantastic post on how she organises her blog with One Note. I have since started using the app on my ipad and iphone. Thanks Asti!
- Kezia from Chapteriosity posted about YA cover trends. She nailed it on the head!
- The Huffington Post told us why we’d be screwed if YA books were real - quite funny if you have a moment to check it out!
- Kimberley from On The Wings Of Books asked why bloggers can’t be nicer to each other.
- Stormy from Book.Blog.Bake told us that negative book reviews does not equate to cyber bullying. Amen! :)
- Debby at Snuggly Oranges shared that she gets ARC envy (don’t we all?).
- Megan from Book Brats posted a very candid and open post about feeling jealous of other bloggers at times.
- Katie from Katie’s Book Blog posted her thoughts about jealousy after reading Megan’s post (above).
What do you think?
Yay for the promotion! That has to be exciting :D And I’m so glad I did that OneNote post. I have had a lot of people tell me they started using it after reading my post and have really enjoyed it. Glad to see that happening again! I don’t know what I’d do without it. Even earlier today my laptop froze and I had to restart it, and I was so happy OneNote automatically saves everything so I didn’t lose any information! And can I just say, I love your Feral Fridays?! I don’t always get to comment, but I am a HUGE discussion junkie (in case you didn’t notice ;) ) and I always skim through it before linking it up in my weekly recap! Glad to see it continuing on!
I know, I am super excited!!
I am really glad you did too! I love bloggers that are open and share for everyone else. Some bloggers feel like when they’re onto a good thing they don’t want to tell others, but that isn’t good for anyone in the long term. I’ve been using the apps as I don’t have it on my PC, but it’s been equally as good! Always saves - and they sync immediately on ipad and iphone!
We love a good discussion too! I regularly read yours as well (I am not big on commenting - something I totally understand I need to get better at!) and really enjoy them. I love hopping around the net to see what other bloggers are talking about!

Thanks for linking to my post!
Congrats on the promotion!
