August in Review

Evening! August has come and is almost behind us. Kristy and I have had a super productive and busy month in August - both with Book Nerd Reviews as well as offline. I just found out this week that the promotion I applied for is happening, and so I’ll be very shortly starting a new role at work which is both extremely exciting to be doing something new, but also a little nerve wracking!

In case you missed it, here is our August recap.

This month we reviewed the following books:

When The World Was Flat (And We Were In Love) - Ingrid Jonach
Fire With Fire (Burn For Burn #2) - Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian
Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1) - Sarah J. Maas
Hate Is Such A Strong Word - Sarah Ayoub
The Sound - Sarah Alderson
Batman: The Killing Joke - Alan Moore
All Our Yesterdays - Cristin Terrill
Indelible (The Twixt #1) - Dawn Metcalf
Ink (Paper Gods #1) - Amanda Sun
Banish - Nicola Marsh

We still have three current giveaways happening.

International August YA New Release Giveaway (Ends August 31st)
When The World Was Flat (And We Were In Love) - Ingrid Jonach (Australian only giveaway ending September 15th)
When The World Was Flat (And We Were In Love) - Ingrid Jonach (International giveaway ending October 21st)

We discussed

Kristy and I had some great discussions in August with our Feral Friday posts:

We discussed love triangles & teams on August 23rd
We discussed loaning books on August 16th
And we discussed book covers changing mid series on August 9th

Posts we really enjoyed from our blogging friends

There were some really great posts and discussions online this month. Here’s just some of what we enjoyed in August:

Next month

Kristy and I have two giveaways scheduled to already continue through September, not to mention our standard monthly international giveaway which will soon be announced happening! We also have been thinking of some really good discussions to have for our regular Friday posts, and stay tuned for reviews of some brand new September releases next month!

What do you think?

  • Yay for the promotion! That has to be exciting :D And I’m so glad I did that OneNote post. I have had a lot of people tell me they started using it after reading my post and have really enjoyed it. Glad to see that happening again! I don’t know what I’d do without it. Even earlier today my laptop froze and I had to restart it, and I was so happy OneNote automatically saves everything so I didn’t lose any information! And can I just say, I love your Feral Fridays?! I don’t always get to comment, but I am a HUGE discussion junkie (in case you didn’t notice ;) ) and I always skim through it before linking it up in my weekly recap! Glad to see it continuing on!

I know, I am super excited!!

I am really glad you did too! I love bloggers that are open and share for everyone else. Some bloggers feel like when they’re onto a good thing they don’t want to tell others, but that isn’t good for anyone in the long term. I’ve been using the apps as I don’t have it on my PC, but it’s been equally as good! Always saves - and they sync immediately on ipad and iphone!

We love a good discussion too! I regularly read yours as well (I am not big on commenting - something I totally understand I need to get better at!) and really enjoy them. I love hopping around the net to see what other bloggers are talking about!
